
Congratulations to Andrew on his new PR for Fran. He completed 21, 15 and 9 of Thrusters and pull-ups in 3:24.
On August 16th, we began a 10-week strength building program using Mark Rippetoe's and Lon Kilgore's Starting Strength program. Due to the recent fires, we postponed our test week for an additional two weeks. Our premise was to see if we could build strength through powerlifting and still maintain or improve upon CrossFit-type workouts. The over-all results were phenomenal! The experiment began week one and ended week 10 with the following workouts:
Monday: "Fran"; Tuesday: For time: 50 Box Jumps, 5 Rope climbs, 50 KB Swings, 50 Sit-ups, 50 Hang Power Cleans, 800 meter run, 50 Back Extensions; Wednesday: 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 Clean and Jerks and Max set of pull-ups and Thursday: "CrossFit Total".
